What We Do

Business Representation

Formation, contracts, ownership, and protection for operating businesses and professional practices.

The firm represents businesses at formation, in contract negotiation, through changes in ownership, and in protecting what they own. The work spans technology products and services, aerospace and aviation, satellite and telecommunications, consumer electronics and consumer goods, restaurants and food distribution, healthcare, real estate development and construction, and professional practices and associations, along with startups and their founders.

Most engagements start with a conversation about where the business is and where it is headed. From there the work is scoped in an engagement letter, so the owner knows what the firm will do and what it will cost before the work starts.

How an engagement starts

  • A first conversation, by phone or in the office, about the business and the problem or plan.
  • A short written scope and fee arrangement, agreed before the work starts.
  • The work itself, with a point of contact for questions along the way.

A business that is raising money from investors is covered under Capital Raising & Securities. A family business planning for the next generation is covered under Family Business Succession.
